This is one of the 10 principles of T’ai Chi Ch’uan. Master Tung Kai Ying and Master Chen Wei of the LA Academy of T’ai Chi Ch;uan say, “Place your mind in the foot that is not moving” The stable foot is the yin foot as it is rooted in the earth. The moving foot is the yang foot as it is active and moving. Before shifting your weight, place your mind into the stable foot as you pour from the empty foot into your full foot. Your balance will improve and your postures become more flowing and smooth. Linda
