Burnout is a word coined in 1974 for the exhaustion, fatigue and sense of dis- ease in the mind and body that comes from constant care giving without enough self- care. It usually refers to “occupational’ burnout. But, with so many of our friends and neighbors caring for children, parents and other family members and those working at home without the natural relief of moving about safely, burnout is becoming an issue for so many. Self care is essential in our new reality- knowing when to turn-off the TV, asking for help, going for a walk, performing meditative type activities like T’ai Chi, being with nature and feeling moments of gratitude are essential to our sense of wellbeing. Be safe, wear a mask, physically distance but not social distancing will help get us through. Peace, Linda
