Indigenous people traversed the rivers and waterways and used sealed hollowed out gourds, animal bladders and goat hides filled with air to stay afloat. The use of flotation devices can be dated as long ago as 800 BC. Today, we use personal flotation devices to keep our head above the water and prevent drowning when we find ourselves in the deep end of the water.
Spiritually, culturally, physically, economically, and emotionally we are in the deep end caused by the COVID 19 outbreak. Our society is in the deep end and in times like this, we need a life preserver to keep us afloat. To bring hope until we reach shallow waters.
Finding ways to connect with people, being creative, and staying sane are some of the life preservers we need as we tread the waters of the deep end. T’ai Chi is based on the concept of complimentary opposites. Where there is a deep end, a shallow end is soon to follow.
Peace. Linda
