Total Eclipse of the Sun August 2026

In the cosmology of a total eclipse in Tai Chi and Qigong, the Sun represents pure Yang (fire, heart, spirt, action) while the moon represents pure Yin (water, kidneys, essence and stillness). In human terms, the eclipse mirrors the internal goal of Tai chi and Qigong of bring the fire of the heart and the water of the kidneys together creating the perfect balance between yang and yin. In our practice and learning, we strive to be in perfect balance, alignment, and move with an internal awareness of our body, mind and spirt. Seeking this perfect balance, we find stillness as we breathe deeply and calmly.
